Announcement Date: April 25, 2016

On April 25th, 2016, the Atlanta Business Chronicle hosted the 20th annual Pacesetter Award. In a growing economy, Haven Campus Communities is pleased to be nominated as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the metro Atlanta area.  Founded in 2013, Haven Campus Communities is an off-campus student housing development that has seen tremendous growth. The first property opened in the Fall of 2014 with 568 beds. By the end of 2016, Haven will have a total of 3,470 beds operating at five major universities. Another 4,100 beds are in the pipeline with deliveries scheduled for 2017 and 2018.

“When we started Haven Campus Communities, we knew that with our collective experience in the real estate industry that we had the kind of know-how that would allow us to make a significant impact in the student housing sector,” said Jay Williams, co-founder and president. “We took a very aggressive approach and have since benefited with every project that we have completed, coming in on time, under budget and subsequently, fully leased. These results are directly attributable to our strong team and our ability to execute better than our competition.” Haven has seen their team of three in 2013 grow to 12 team members in 2016.

In order to be considered for the Pacesetter award, the business must be privately owned, based in the 20-county metro area, and not be a subsidiary of another company. The company must also be established within the first quarter of 2013 or earlier, and have experienced a two-year growth in sales of more than 50 percent. The company must have revenue between $1 million and $300 million in 2015. To determine the order of the top 100 companies, a growth index formula is used to even out the smaller and larger companies and create an even playing field. With companies ranging from VDart, an information technology staffing, to GPS Hospitality, a Burger King franchisee, Haven ranked #34 out of 100. “We feel privileged to be nominated among the top companies in Atlanta, each with a story to tell and great accomplishments. We are honored the Atlanta Business Chronicles has chosen to include our company and are excited for what’s to come,” said Jay Williams.
